Vol. 1 (2013) pp. 37-46. ALGORITHMS FOR UNEQUALLY SPACED FAST LAPLACE TRANSFORMS FREDRIK ANDERSSON⇤ Abstract. We develop fast algorithms for unequally spaced discrete Laplace transforms with complex parameters, which are approximate up to prescribed choice of computational precision. The algorithms are based on modifications of algorithms for unequally spaced fast Fourier transforms using Gaussians. Various configurations of sums with equally and unequally spaced points cant be dealt with. Numerical experiments show that the computational time is similar to that for computing ordinary discrete Fourier transforms by means of FFT. Results are given for the one-dimensional case, but it is straightforward to generalize them to arbitrary dimensions.

Fast Inversion of the Exponential Radon Transform by Using Fast Laplace Transforms

Abstract. The Fourier slice theorem used for the standard Radon transform generalizes to a Laplace counterpart when considering the exponential Radon transform. We show how to use this fact in combination with using algorithms for unequally spaced fast Laplace transforms to construct fast and accurate methods for computing, both the forward exponential Radon transform and the corresponding back...

The fast Gauss transform with complex parameters q

We construct a fast method, OðN logNÞ, for the computation of discrete Gauss transforms with complex parameters, capable of dealing with unequally spaced grid points. The method is based on Fourier techniques, and in particular it makes use of a modified unequally spaced fast Fourier transform algorithm, in combination with previously suggested divide and conquer strategies for ordinary fast Ga...

Grids and transforms for band-limited functions in a disk

We develop fast discrete Fourier transforms (and their adjoints) from a square in space to a disk in the Fourier domain. Since our new transforms are not unitary, we develop a fast inversion algorithm and derive corresponding estimates that allow us to avoid iterative methods typically used for inversion. We consider the eigenfunctions of the corresponding band-limiting and space-limiting opera...

Fast Discrete Curvelet Transforms

This paper describes two digital implementations of a new mathematical transform, namely, the second generation curvelet transform [12, 10] in two and three dimensions. The first digital transformation is based on unequally-spaced fast Fourier transforms (USFFT) while the second is based on the wrapping of specially selected Fourier samples. The two implementations essentially differ by the cho...

Chapter 1 Fast Fourier Transforms for Nonequispaced Data: a Tutorial

In this section, we consider approximative methods for the fast computation of multivariate discrete Fourier transforms for nonequi-spaced data (NDFT) in the time domain and in the frequency domain. In particular, we are interested in the approximation error as function of the arithmetic complexity of the algorithm. We discuss the robustness of NDFT{algorithms with respect to roundoo errors and...
